NAV-> ETA ?

I'm surprised to find that the NAV system does not provide an estimated time of arrival.

The only thing I can find is a total miles, but only in the center guage cluster, when NAV is selected as the active option.

Am I must mussing it somehow?

Arrival time is an option in the NAVI settings. Find a menu option something like "Text information on map" and it will be under there.

Others may have different experiences but I find that the ETA's that I get are wildly inaccurate...particularly on longer trips (500-600 miles).By inaccurate I'm talking 90 minutes or more.I don't know if it assumes breaks of a certain length or speed limit (or less) travel but....

I don't think it is possible for it to be very accurate, especially for long trips. There is no way to know how many stops will be made, or for how long.

I haven't checked on this car yet, but I find it typically updates as I get closer to my destination. I also typically find it indicates longer than it will actually be.

Its all an estimate.

My experience with the ETA is very good - it correlates closely to the arrival time and does adjust as the trip unfolds. As an example today I made a trip of 581 miles and the arrival time was accurate to about 4 minutes - by this I mean at the start of the trip the ETA showed 5:58 pm and I actually arrived at 6:02. The ETA updated itself during the trip and when I was 25 miles from my destination it indicated 6:02 - the exact time I arrived. I did stop for gas for a total of 12 minutes during the trip. Also I did not experience any traffic jams etc during the trip.

It's accurate as long as there are no delays or heavy traffic... so 80pct of
the time it's not....
Even with "traffic info" on, though that's more due to the fact
that the system does not get regulary fed with live updates (here in France anyway...).
