CLK 350 resonator delete
Nice sound!!
I have been trying to find resonator delete videos for a CLK 350. However, I couldn't find any. I was wondering if I should get a resonator delete for mine. Do you think the sound will be better/improved?

It will make your car louder, I would go with an X pipe though on a 6 cylinder. I think the V8's benefit from the straight pipes, but the 6 cylinders can sound ricer with straight pipes.

Probably a combo of you using an x pipe and having the older engine. The straight pipes seem to add a nice burble effect while I think the turbos stop the car from sounding like a ricer. No loss of power at all, I'd actually argue that I got a little extra torque at the low end. Could be true given the CLS generates more HP thanks to a freer exhaust system.

Not me who had the x pipe. I've only had a straight. I have heard the x though on the 550 and it is a much smother and muted sound than the straight pipes. Straight pipes have more of a raw AMG sound in my opinion.

Glad you like it, actually, as the pipes get worn in and the carbon builds up in them a little, they get deeper and throatier. Mine have become very deep and throaty, it actually crackles and pops now when i'm slowing down for a red light...like a real race car!

Just had this done, 45 minutes and $200 (yes expensive but I knew the guy does good work). The car sounds phenomenal, this is how it should have sounded from the factory.
The removal of the resonator makes the engine 100% more throaty, it's not deeper but much throttier and it burbles real nicely.
My dealer recommended I do the resonator delete, I was originally looking at a muffler delete but they advised against it.
I will post a sound clip later tonight.

sounds similar to you set up...
guessing removing both would be louder... and that's where an X pipe will help.
BTW: F10 M5 aftermarket come with x pipes... X pipe is not a bad thing on a Turbo V8 car.

E550 coupe , S550 w221, X5m50d, Cayenne GTS
btw: the other 2 small ball looking cats are actually resonators too.. I removed those instead and left the traditional box looking resonators..
