Ripped Seat

Bad news. Forgetting all about the screwdriver that was in my back pocket, I sat in my drivers seat and ripped a 1 inch hole. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Do I have to buy an entire seat?

Will post a pic

A friend of mine has a c300 and his seat ripped. He purchased a new leather piece (seat cover) and removed the seat from the car. The bottom portion was removed from the seat and the leather cover was held on by clips and bolts. It was surprisingly easy to do.

You can buy an insert to replace the damaged one from MB and any upholstery shop can easily install it. This will bring it back to factory finish or the same shop can sew the tear. The latter will show a bit.

Check with you insurance, maybe comprehensive will cover it.(long shot but worth a try)
