E550 Coupe vs CL550
Hi everyone.
For the past couple of months I have been looking for a good deal on a used 2010 CL550 coupe. I recently came across the E550 coupe and figure I could buy a new E for about the same price as a used CL. Can someone help me with key differences between the two? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The CL is a totally different car, way more luxurious in every way. The E will probably be better to drive hard and enjoy whereas the CL is more of a cruiser
Remember the E550 is based on the W204 C-Class whereas the CL is similar to the S-Class

2010 E550 Coupe
Completely accurate. Test drove both and CL felt like a 2-door sedan heavy and more detached from the road, whereas the E coupe is more sporty and agile. Just depends on what you're looking for, but drive both and you'll notice a clear difference.

E Coupe
I got my E550 coupe with 6000 miles for 17k off original msrp, CPO, was looking at a used CL but the E coupe was fun to drive and still gives the wow factor because there aren't many on the road. Not to mention the 2-3 years extra warranty you would get from getting an E vs CL. If money wasn't an issue I would have gotten the CL because the interior is top notch. Just my 2 cents, but I have had the E coupe for a year now and still love it. A friend has the E550 sedan and I don't like it at all, but that's just me. Enjoy whatever you get.
