Caker's Build Thread - 2010 E550c
Hey guys, been lurking for a while and thought I'd create a thread where I'll post pics of all the things I'm doing to the car. Feel free to comment and ask questions if there's anything I did which you want to know more about, or if you have any helpful suggestions.
Picked her up in November of 2012, CPO 2010 E550 Coupe. 22000km on the clock, Iridium Silver on Alpaca Grey with Black Ash wood and AMG package.
![Caker's Build Thread - 2010 E550c-001.jpg](https://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/e-class-coupe-c207-cabrio-a207/409851d1542335103t-caker-s-build-thread-2010-e550c-001.jpg)
First thing to do was put winter tires on it since I'm in Canada and it's full of that white stuff. The orange triangle still says hi at every corner or intersection but the Kumho KWs work pretty well.
![Caker's Build Thread - 2010 E550c-004.jpg](https://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/e-class-coupe-c207-cabrio-a207/409852d1542335103t-caker-s-build-thread-2010-e550c-004.jpg)
Next on the list was planning what shoes to wear when it warms up. These got delivered the day after I picked up the car
HRE P95L Brushed Finish, 20x9+35 20x10+47, 245/30 295/25.

Next project was to get license plate lights like the 2012's have, I even bought a set of OEM ones but they won't work on 2010-2011 because of the bulb connector. Anyways I ended up with 2 SMD LED wedge bulbs so that they weren't too bright like some of the ones I see. Look a little blue in the picture, but they're pretty white in real life.
![Caker's Build Thread - 2010 E550c-005.jpg](https://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/e-class-coupe-c207-cabrio-a207/409855d1542335103t-caker-s-build-thread-2010-e550c-005.jpg)
After that, time to change the only thing about the interior I didn't like, the wheel.
![Caker's Build Thread - 2010 E550c-006.jpg](https://mbworld.org/forums/attachments/e-class-coupe-c207-cabrio-a207/409856d1542335103t-caker-s-build-thread-2010-e550c-006.jpg)
Found one with Black Ash wood to match the interior, had a flat bottom, and best of all it's a smaller diameter than the stock wheel.

I like the stock grill on darker colored cars, but on my silver one I found it was too plain.

Easy swap, seller even sent me a disc to allow it to work with distronic!

Got antsy on the weekend and wanted to see how the wheels would fit.

Thank you sir, and congrats on yours as well!
The looks of this thing is definitely what attracted me to it over the C63/S5/ISF/M3's I was cross shopping with.
Another little helpful tidbit for anyone with a rattling rear deck is sticking small rubber 'door stops' or rubber wedges down between the rear window and the rear deck. Simple, reversible, and it eliminated my rattle almost entirely. I found some small black ones that you can't even see through the rear window. I'll fix it properly once I do the stereo, but this will do for now.

Not yet, I've been trying to get an Eisenmann exhaust but none of the vendors I've talked to are able to get one because they supposedly havn't been released yet. Eisenmann has said it should be released early this year, but we'll see. Perhaps a Renntech ECU/Headers in the future, but I'm happy with the power right now.
I'm expecting to have issues with the tires, the wheels are actually spec'd for an e-class sedan but I wanted them to stick out a bit so I could slightly stretch the rubber. The Nitto Invos are nice tires but I knew from the get go I'd be replacing them with skinnier ones. I actually used your car as a reference and all your posts about wheel fitment to help me close the deal on these wheels, thanks!

Wow, love the color combo of your car! Silver looks great on the e coupe because of the contrast with the panoramic roof. Steering wheel swap looks dope! Only thing I would recommend would be to tint that bad bad boy! Love your grille. Did the chrome on the grille match up with the chrome strip on the hood?

Great stuff so far!
Can you please tell me where you got the LED's for license plate, a link would be awesome? I bought a pair a couple of weeks back and they did not fit inside the bulb housing.
By the way, the grill looks great!

Yes, I had to notify the vendor first and they supplied me with a disc that will allow you to use the grill with distronic. It's just a tinted transparent plastic disc, looks dead similar to the oem one.

I'm going with KW V3's, should be placing the order very soon. Electronic Dampening system will be unplugged, rendering it useless. I'm hoping that unplugging it won't display any dashboard warnings or anything, I'll have to look into that.
Just ordered clear sidemarkers last night, will have install pics up within a couple weeks!
Here's a photoshop of what it should look like when lowered

^Thanks dude, I'll probably drop it close to the same level shown in my photoshop. I think I'll switch out the 295/25's for 275/30's and see what it looks like, may have to go a titch lower.

I got the car tinted today, 40% all round. While they were at it, I asked them to smoke the headlights & taillights at the same time as an experiment. I think they used laminex, or some other thick film made for rock chip prevention. Not sure if I like it, front looks okay but I may peel the rear off tomorrow.
