First Post - Prepaid Maintenance
This is my first post on this forum. I have been browsing for a couple of weeks gathering info on the MB brand. I have been driving Japanese luxury cars for a number of years and I plan to delve into German automobile territory when the 2014 E-Class coupe comes out this summer. i plan to purchase a E550 coupe and will be doing the euro delivery program. My question is aabout prepaid maintenance. Is that a fixed dollar amount depending on the duration of coverage or can the price be negociated btween dealers like others do?

My friend before pay them read every line in contract, Mercedes comes with factory warranty no matter what even you change oil or service it in other than dealer, in reality mercedes service light comes on every 10,000. miles or every year, if you use top grade oil you be ok normally by the time you put 40,000. miles on this car you need to service it 4 times minimum, figure out does it worth it to pay for these services on your own choice or not, by 40,000. you need Trany service in Ca, it cost $ 350. in Ca most dealers they offer this to lock customer not going to independent shops & it's more like scam, also you should know you could change oil yourself or at shop you trust (by law that won't void your waranty), most dealers use the least expensive oil by wholeseller Shell or Penzoil by (tanker) not mentioning contamination through the tank & lines, now the question is what's included in this golden package let me know I can help you out to figure, As far as I know this package was presented to salesman to mislead car buyer which had more money to charge them more & hook em up to dealer before they find out they have other choices!!
