Great MPG (for me ) on my 2013 e350 Cab
Took a trip from Central NJ to Albany, NY today and averaged 30.6 MPG.
I achieved 31 MPG until the last few miles. Great, I thought for a 200 mile trip.
We'll see if I can do the same on the way down.
As a side note, it's killing me that it's raining on my new car (purchased in May).
I tend to treat my "nice" car differently than my everyday one and never take it out in inclimate weather. It didn't rain until we arrived here. I knew there was a chance of thunderstorms. Don't know what posessed me to take it out. It will be the last time it goes out in the rain. Am I nuts or are there others like me?

No there are others. I carry microfiber towels in the trunk for rain situations. I think this stems from having to clean a boat when you bring it back to the slip! You never ride it hard and put it away wet! That applies to just about everything : )

It just bothers me that the cloth roof is so wet. For the past 7 years, I have been used to having a hard top convertible.

If you don't take it out in the rain how will you ever learn that it is one of the best roofs on the market, capable of dealing with extremes of weather. The thing to do it to ensure you protect from very hot direct sunlight and ensure you keep it clean and properly proofed with Mercedes proofing agents........

I have the Wolfsteins Ragtopp Fabric Kit as recommended by MB. http://www.wolfsteins.com/products.htm#cleaner
I spoke to the rep there and he said that I didn't need to use it yet since the car is quite new and the water beads. The only thing he recommended was to put some protectant on the stitching threads as they have not been coated with protectant as the roof had been during manufacture.
I'm sure the roof can handle it. I still hate to torture it. As for one of the best on the market? It seems Haartz http://www.haartz.com/en/products/convertible_toppings/cloth/cloth_convertible_topping.asp manufactures a majority of the world's convertible tops.
