Exhaust axle back upgrade for 2014 E550 Coupe

About a month ago I accepted delivery of a 2014 E550 Coupe and am now considering an axle back exhaust upgrade for a more throaty exhaust note. So far I have been in contact with three different manufacturers. Two of them have nothing ready as yet and until they can get their hands on a 2014 Coupe. Both anticipate announcements to be several months down the road. The third manufacturer indicates that their system can be shipped in just a few weeks and is already installed on Coupes around the world. Since I have no desire to modify or swap out the diffuser I am suspicious that the 2014 diffusers are different from previous models so I am being cautious about the third manufacturer.

I've attached three pics of my car with its stock setup. You may note that a chrome surround is a part of the diffuser and that the outlet of the resonator is not attached to it nor does it touch it. The exhaust outlet simply is inserted a small distance inside the chrome surround.

To make sure that the third manufacturer does now indeed have the correct parts and that they will fit my car without mods can folks with a prior year E550 Coupe tell me if my stock system looks the same as the prior year models or is there a difference that manufacturers need to be sensitive to? Please excuse the dirty car.!! I have been driving in nasty weather the past few days.

The resonators are located about middle of the vehicle, the mufflers are at the rear.

Search this forum for "resonator" because their removal seems to be a relatively inexpensive way to achieve better sound. There are some sound bytes posted too.

Thanks for the correction but I still would like to know if the muffler outlets and diffuser look any differently on pre 2014 E550 Coupes. Any one?

If I were you I'd just go to an exhaust shop and get them to fit an x-pipe where the resonators are, if that doesn't sound throaty enough then have them remove secondary cats as well.

The majority of the systems will be the same between the 13 and 14MY 550 BT as the engine is pretty much the same.

Renntech have a good system, incorporating new downpipes and high flow primary cats which could be worth a look in conjuction with their stage 2 tune.
