m278 tuning

Well i see lots of people here go for the styling way and not to many for the tuning way...

I recently purchased a 2012 e550 coupe and i want to make this car rip the asphalt.. so ive been searching alot and reading what i could do to it and havent seen many people modifying theirs. theres lots of cls550 modded but its not the same since that car is so much heavier than the e coupe.. i see that with 4 matic its almost 800 pounds difference..

Previously i had a c63 amg with mhp headers, carbon intakes, x pipe and tune, car made 434whp in a dynojet, and it was very fast

I want to see if i can make the 550 coupe faster, ill be adding mhp tune, drop in filters and decat it.

And from what ive read the coupe is slightly lighter than the c63.

Just wanted to share my future project with you and see if anyone else has had experiences modifying or racing this cars.

Current: 2019 M5 Donnington Gray, 2021 GLE53 Diamond White Met. Previous: 2010 C63, 2012 E550 Coupe
Are you going to do anything to firm up the handling? That's the one thing I like about my C63 vs my E550 coupe.

I can't imagine making that thing go any faster without firming it up.

Better add a Quaife limited slip too. Search the posts from Nawlins and others who have modified or tuned the 278 package.

I don't know: Nawlins hasn't posted in a while. I know others on this forum have tuned with great results. Check out RennTech for detailed tune info: 530HP and 606TQ!.

Ive seen that renntech tune... mhp say 540hp 640tq, my c63 dialed almost 90whp with their tune so i think it would worth the shot.

I also saw the OEtuning, wich the say 70-80whp, have you heard anything abut them¿

You know i must say im impressed nawlins E550 did a 114mph trap speed.. that seems very fast, ive seen modded 63´s in the 120s wuich is not that far with some a minor mods..
