Turbo Lag
Re: my new 2014 E550 Cab…I've heard of turbo lag which is slight in my car, but is there lag in deceleration when you go from full throttle to completely off the gas pedel? I notice a hesitation; it feels for a split second like the throttle is stuck. Anyone else notice this or do I have a defect that needs correction?

It depends by how much. For the cleanest emissions immediately shutting the throttle leaves unburnt gas in the system, so there is a controlled closing of the throttle.

in "E" mode that happens to me.. the transmission delays shifts and engine is controlling boost.
it does improve in "S" mode.
Remember these cars adapt to your driving still.. if you baby the throttle it will become somewhat lazy shifting.
Try the "ECU reset".. look through the forums on the steps required to clear out your transmission adaptations.
The pedal calibration takes more effort than smaller engine cars.. they do this to avoid people getting into accident with so much torque.

Old thread... but my car also does this RPM hang sometimes, followed by a somewhat harsh upshift when I come off the throttle at a higher RPM. With throttle applied, it shifts nicely at any RPM. Anyone else experience this? I have done the TCU adaptation reset.
