Hi ! Had my car in for the last week trying to get the radio repaired, keeps losing the signal, they have changed everything, there has been some improvement BUT !!
Anyway the heads up is the fact that I heard a lot of sloshing movement of water as I drove, I thought it was fuel in the tank !! Anyway here in the UK we have had an incredible amount of rain for us, and the dealer advised that my sills have filled with water and the drain holes have not been working, so they cleared the blockages and all is now okay.... So it was not fuel in the tank!!! Guess you guys should check the drain holes periodically I will from now on!!!
By the way I have always kept the obvious drains free of crap, never knew about the sill drainage!!!!

I have yet to get under the car to find the drain holes, the dealer did it this time. I will invest in a high pressure lance that does the underside of the car, hopefully do the wheel arches better as well!!!
Got under the sills today to see if I could find the drain holes. Actually they have open vents along the length of the sills at different points, so have yet to work out where they meant that the drain holes where blocked. Will update when I have enough information!!!
Standing water inside of any car is the fastest way to a rot box, especially with added road salt in the mix, very little anti corrosion can withstand the mix.......
PS have still bought a pressure lance that will reach under the car and the wheel arches, I hate winter road salt !!!!

Hello! At first I thought they meant the long sills below the doors, but these have vents all the way along.
If they meant the door sills then the drain hole is at the bottom of the door, but my car never gets that dirty for these to be blocked as I clean this area fully. The next sills are those at the bottom of the windscreen, but I always clean the crap out of these regularly with my high pressure hose.
This leaves the sills at the back of the car and around the base of the soft-top, and the area below the rear side windows????
My car is exceptionally clean so I could not find the drain holes here, so if someone has any idea I would appreciate it?????
I high pressure hosed with my special lance, underneath the car and the wheel arches. I know there are drain holes at the back of the arches so ensured I clean all around this area, (you can only see them when the car is on stands.
Some may think I am a being a bit nutty, but water sitting somewhere inside of the car is a bad thing, it was enough for me to hear it sloshing around as I drove the car so it must have been a significant amount..........

I've been hearing the water sloshing from the side panels above the driver side rear wheel after it rains heavy. My local dealership wanted SGD500 and 2 days to fix this. I looked under my car, took a coin and unscrewed the plug and out came buckets of water. Fixed it in 10 minutes with a 20 cent coin.

Here's what you should see, looking under your car.
What it looks like plugged in.
When I look under my 2013 E350 Cab where you are pointing to with your foot, I only see the muffler. I do not see any plug. I see plugs under the door sill but that's it. I took one out but they are not threaded like the one you show.
I know I’m 5 years after the original post...I too hear the water. I unscrewed the screws, where your foot is...no water came out...might they be plugged? Do I need to put the plastic screws back in? If they’re drains, shouldn’t I just leave them out? Thank you

It’s the decorative rocker panels with the AMG package. The panels and plugs get clogged with sand, in my case, and you need to remove all plugs and flush running water through the rocker panels and then clean out the plugs

Actually the rocker panel is structural, but what I’m talking about is the long Fiberglass piece running beneath the doors, lowest piece, between the front and rear wheels. Like the front bumper lower trim, it makes the car look lower and more hunkered down. Look above in photos, dpjoey has his sneaker below one end of it.
Had the same issue... Your frame rail drains are clogged. You probably has a recent rain or washed the car... It will drain slowly on its own, but really you need to take the running board off to access the drain and clean them out. It sounds like 20 gallons in there, but its not the end of the world.
Am I missing something? I’ve unplugged the drains where his foot is, and no water came out. Is it clogged? How do I unclog? Do I stick something in there? I still hear this damn water. Thanks for your help.

Hey Revice. Did you end up figuring it out? The sloshing around has been happening for weeks. every time i remove the plastic screws a water comes out. Has anyone figured out how to prevent it from filling up in the first place? I cleaned the entrance point of the drains on both sides of the bottom of the windshield, and it is still managing to fill up with water every time it rains.
i will definitely try to disassemble as mentioned in the posted diagram, but im afraid of breaking something more than the clips. Anyway, thanks to everyone on this thread, you have been very helpful!
