Just took delivery of a 2014 E550 Coupe
She adores the E-Coupe pillar-less design so much (which is unique in its class), she doesn’t mind to have another E-Coupe.
We just took delivery of her new car a few days ago, yet if I must sum-up our first impression compares to her last car – It is a ‘totally’ different animal.
Not just the obvious (beefier engine, adjustable suspension, bigger brakes, bodywork styling) of this 4.7L bi-Turbo V8 model, but Mercedes had been quietly improving countless little things throughout the car over the years... The software worked faster, the buttons touched better, the components ran smarter, the finish felt richer. More functions, updates, gadgets, options. Everything is improved and modern.
Like folks say, the E550 Coupe is also a sleeper Mercedes. I have no doubt about a mid-four seconds 0-60 mph time, especially with some good tires. The V8 could push our back into the heated leather seat so firmly, yet rumbled so relaxingly – A pure meditation deluxe.
All the Mercedes hard work paid-off though, because we felt our money was well spent.
Here are some quick pictures to share, hope you folks would enjoy.

Today I found that when lifting the throttle during acceleration in Manual mode (even just in slow traffic), the exhaust would return some subtle barks. Very pleasant to hear in the cabin, yet not intrusive.
We are still discovering all the new features to us... like the Cross-Traffic Assist (can detect intersection traffic and pedestrians), 360-degrees Surround View System, Collision Prevention Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Active Parking Assist and Exit, Blind Spot Assist, etc.
We also like that the Command GPS now can accept full-address voice input. For example, I can say '3301 Lyon Street San Francisco' without inputting the city, street, house number separately.
The new Full-LED headlamps are amazing. No wonder Mercedes calls it the LED Intelligent Light System -- It always lights up the exact spots where my eyes land, without blinding other traffic. It is also a sophisticated piece of engineering, I can spend hours admiring it.

Thanks folks. So far we love the car very much -- while our last E350 Coupe felt like a nice sports coupe, this E550 Coupe feels like a luxury hot rod. We thought that our E350 already had more then enough power for daily drive, yet the torque on the E550 (together with the V8 rumbling) is just pure fun.
