Quad exhaust tip installation question

Looking to install quad exhaust tip on my E550. Do I need to cut the tip off from the OEM muffler? Or it just bolted on? Also does the stock diffuser work with the square quad tip? I try to avoid cutting/welding anything on my car. Thanks.

In that case keep your stock setup!

I, too, have a '12 E550 and want to switch to quad tip without messing with the diffuser.

What have you found that works best? Any help would be appreciated.
