Clunky downshifts 2016 E550C
Had the car since June 30th - didn't notice at first but driving in the city 5-4 and 4-3 downshift in automatic E mode quite clunky. Feels like a bit of a thud. My wife also commented on it.
Previously had '12 E550C and automatic downshifts were like silk - I couldn't even tell when it was downshifting.
Will drop into the dealer next week to see whats up - always interested in their service 'theories'

Also with issues like these I recommend you post in the W212 sedan forum where you'll get a lot more traffic

I fought Mercedes Benz USA hard over seven months to first get them to buy back my first brand-new E550 and then to buy back the replacement E550.

I have started to read through them and appreciate your detail, position and resolution on the issue.
I'll be seeing the dealer shortly and I'll post along the way as information becomes available.
I find posts like yours and access to this forum invaluable when on prior occasions dealership representatives will sometimes disavow any knowledge of an issue.
Yet, that same issue will be well documented by posters and a simple Google will reveal many owners dealing with the similar problem.
