A review of the new E Class Coupé amg package. It somehow looks like the S Class coupé also kind of looks like C Coupe.
It is larger than the previous E class coupe. More interior space...

I still can't decide if it's understated or underwhelming. I'm leaning towards the latter.
I like some of the interior, but it also looks very awkward how the large displays are there and don't really flow to the passenger side well. It just...stops.
As for exterior, it's been said plenty of times. The rear quarter panels are missing some flare. The back of the car is very plain to me. The front looks ok, although I prefer the more sleek design of the pre and post facelifted cars. The new one is more beefy.
I don't like the 2 horizontal lines in the vents on each side of the lower front fascia though. Perhaps I'll get used to them, but currently they look out of place.
I like the overall size though.

so ... the "AMG package" on the entry level E's consists of bumper treatments, wheels and floor mats??? Although I guess its not that much different than including them as a part of the "Sports Package" here in the states.

Exactly. Back in 2011, when I first laid eyes on what would soon become my next Benz, a new 2012 black E350 Coupe sitting sold and unprepped in the dealer’s back lot, my heart literally skipped a beat and I had one of those dangerou$ moment$ of auto passion the likes of which I hadn’t had for a long time.
As hard as I am trying to feel that, I can’t conjure up anywhere near that degree of excitement when I look at this 2018 Mercedes E coupe, which is – or maybe was – to be my replacement for the 2012.
And as much as I like the new twin-screen dash displays, your comment was also my exact same reaction after seeing them from the proper angle. And to me, it looks like someone simply glued them on there. To see it done right you have to look at the S class. A shame, considering how elegantly the interiors of both the E coupe and sedan are executed.
Of course, many will disagree and many will buy. For me, after waiting so long to see a new – proper sized – E Class coupe, this is disappointing.

I like the exterior. The C E and S Coupe are all stunning looking cars. The screens are a bit much but the car industry is all about tech now a days and it takes away from the beauty. Materials look up to top notch and interior design is great too. I love the flowing lines. I do not like the A/C Vents at all. Not sure what they did there. I am still waiting for a 4Matic AMG E Coupe. That would be nice! Been dreaming of it since 2009.

It appears it will be the E50 ... something to do with the 50th anniversary of the E Class ... and as it will be based on the new series of inline sixes ... it appears the engine will be more AMG "enhanced" (a la E43) than "true" AMG (a la E63). Seems as though the E Coupe will continue to not/NOT come in a "true" AMG variant ... making it one of the few models lines to (not) do so. Horsepower in non-massaged form comes in somewhere around 406 when introduced into the soon to be released updated S Series.

Very torn. At first I did not like the pictures. I still am not sold on the front fascia - I like the aggressive look of the C207 / W212 (pre and post facelift) better. The lack of a V8 also is a downer, but I get the industry is moving that way. I just purchased my '14 E550 w/ 8.2k miles in November for a relatively good price and after driving the V8 for four months, I'm not sure I would enjoy going back. It is sublimely smooth (most times), far smoother than the 4s and 6s I've had the opportunity to drive from Benz. I also do not like the fact there is no true AMG in this lineup. While my E550's power is plenty, the lack of an AMG is a downer. I was hoping to be more wowed by this car (the way I was in 2013 when I saw the C207 facelif) when it was announced, but both the C and E coupes, look terrific in certain angles, and totally disproportionate in others. They don't quite reach the elegance and sophistication of the S Coupe's style (nor should they, but they shouldn't feel like B+ ripoffs either).

^ basically, with the overall feeling by major manufacturers these days that the coupe falls into a "niche" category, I doubt that a financial business case can be made by MB for an E63 variant of it. We're lucky to have a coupe at all, which in the not-to-distant future might not be an option.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this car in person. As a long time sedan owner, one really happy with a six cylinder, I'm looking seriously at this car. I don't need backseats, just like the room and this new E coupe is growing in size. For me, this may be a great option.

I have wondered for years why no AMG E Coupe was offered. It seems to me the styling of the vehicle just screamed for the AMG treatment. Now that it's being "offered" (we'll see), I'm not all that impressed.

I had a clk350 cab before my current e350 cab. The lines on the new e350 remind me more of the lines of the clk. I haven't seen a picture of the new cab yet. I agree the vents in the dash seem a bit garish. I am also a big fan of wood trim. I do like the top stitching although you can get that in a chevy impala these days.
Bigger for me is not better. I like a smaller car but need to carry three occasionally.

Love It
I guess I will be different and say I love the new 2018 cabrio. I really like the rear end and seeing the car on uTube I have fallen in love with it. I have put my name in to be one3 of the first on the order list and think I should have the car before the end of the year.
Again Love it!
