Water sliding around cills?
Hi, recently purchased a 2011 e350 convertible. All fine except a water sloshing noise that at first I thought was the fuel tank but now believe water in the door cills. Is there a way to drain this without taking it into a dealer. I’ve heard this is quite common & there are drain plug/ holes? Any help would be appreciated.

My 2012 E550 did the same after 3 days of rain last summer. I removed both plastic pucks in front of the rear wheels that are used as attachment points for the jack. Water came rushing out. I drilled holes in the plastic screw that hold these in place to act as a drain. Now each time I accelerate from a stop, the water drains out. Never heard sloshing water since. I will get this channel rust proofed to make sure thing don’t rust out.

Question for the team on leaving the plugs out...
To remove the plugs I had to pry out with a pointed metal tool as screwdrivers didn't seem to work. You have to pull and pry out while trying to turn the plug with a short and wide screwdriver in the slot. Eventually it will come out a little then you can pull on it with your fingers while turning the plug and trying not to press too hard in case you push it back in. I got three out undamaged but the forth one's slot was too beaten up to use.
My question is why bother to put them back in? What harm is there in leaviing them out so the sills can not only drain immediately water enters, but air out too?
