Hello everybody, Ive seen a lot of posts of people asking about switching from bar grille to "star grill" on the sedan E class. As far as i know the coupe version is only available with the star grille, however, i do not like the star grille and love the classic look coming from the bar grille. My question is, is it possible to place classic bar grilles from the sedan version on the Coupe version? (2010 model)

 

I believe the answer to your question is no, but I wish it was possible as well. I do not care for the giant star grille on my coupe; it looks like something a gangster rapper would wear on a chain around their neck. I'd pay a fairly sizable amount for a traditional slatted grille with the small, stand-up star hood ornament.

 

As an "old" hot rod guy I've learned anything on a vehicle has the possibility of being modified. Especially if you are prepared to spend a "sizable amount". I think the look you are going for would be pretty cool. Check with some local custom shops. Good luck. If you have success post some pics.

 

I suspect that our respective definitions of "sizable" might differ. I was hoping to find an aftermarket, non-custom grille, which I would be willing to pay a few hundred for.

 

Sorry for the confusion. I meant to say find a custom shop to fit a non star OEM grille to your car. Didn't mean to imply that a customized after market grille be added.

 

Do you know of a source for a non-star grille that will fit the coupe? I've had no luck with that.
