Diameter of E550 OEM Exhaust
Does anyone know the diameter of the OEM exhaust on a 2012 E550? I am looking to remove the resonator.

Man, I'm not sure. 3"? You doing it yourself? If not, the muffler shop will know what size pipe to use in place of the resonator.

I have heard the separate pipes are not connected inside the resonator. Can you tell if that is true? It looks like you cut yours out, did you weld in stainless straight pipes or an x-pipe?

The inside of resonator does have an open area that connects the pipes. I used straight pipes.
