Tire/Wheel Question
I found a set of wheels I like on Craigslist, but the seller doesn't know much about them. They are 19" and I believe they are aftermarket, but the width is unknown. They currently have 225/35 and 245/40 on them (which are less wide the my current tires). I have a stock 2012 E550 Cab and was thinking of buying these for summer wheels. My OEM wheels are 18" and I believe they are 8" and 8.5" wide. I know the tire width is only relative to the wheel width, but any ideas how wide these wheels are?

He has given you the tyre size and rim size, that does not tell you the width or offset which you need to know to check they will fit.
On the inside of the wheel will be the wheel width (e.g. 8J which is an 8 inch wide rim) and the offset (e.g. ET45). You also need to know the Centre Bore (size of the hole over the hub) and the PCD (distance between the holes for the wheel nuts).
If they came of an E class then that does at least eliminate some of the questions.
One thing he has told you is that one tyre is a different load rating to the other for the front, so you need at least one new tyre. Also check the tyres are XL rated.
