I finally got the illuminated star installed on my 2013 E550 coupe. The first lesson I learned after ordering the illuminated star for the E550 was that the one for the sedan (W212) won't work on the coupe models, different grills, different star. I looked up the star emblem part number from Mercedes for the star in my coupe and found it is the same one as in the W204 C class. So off to Amazon and ordered the one for the C series, upon looking at both the differences are clear.
The removal of the star is also different, it won't twist out, you need to remove the plastic top cover to access the back of the star and press the tabs in the back to remove it, I did not take the grill out to do this.
