Oily residue in Intake

On my 14 E350 cpe. just removed the air filter assembly and found oily substance in the intake where the two parts attach. Also the outside under this intake has black oily residue. Before I did all this,I noticed that the ring clamp securing the filter housing to the intake was not cinched. Fitting seems pretty secure but if not 100% could this be the problem. Front of engine compartment does smell a little oily when hot. Still under Cert. Warranty. Question, should I have Dealer look at this, clean it up and secure clamp or clean it myself and leave clamp as is for further easy removal?

I suspect there is an engine oil leak near the intake. Remove the engine cover and take a good around for signs of oil leak.
