Multi-contour seats stopped working

As a retirement present, this time last year we bought ourselves a 2013 E220 AMG Sport Cabriolet in silver with low mileage in great condition with all the toys. We absolutely love it, especially with the roof down on country roads, even when it is not so warm. Everything was in full working order until last week when suddenly the multi-contour controls seats stopped working. I have checked the pump fuse (no 60) and also the air pipes under the seats and all looks OK (as far as i can see). So my first post is a request for some guidance on what I can do to fix this. I understand from many internet threads that air pump problems are not uncommon and that simply by cleaning the pump internals can often solve the problem. However, i am struggling to find its location. I am a retired mechanical engineer and have worked on cars loads of times in the past so if I can get to it hopefully I will be able to troubleshoot/fix. Assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Laurence, have you got your seats fixed? I’m have the same problem. Could you share your experience if you have fixed it? Thanks!

Hi, the problem is fixed but I don't know if I can really help you. This is because during a regular service I needed the technician to scan for fault codes with a defective Sat Nav module (as it had stopped displaying maps correctly). While he was doing that he also checked for any other codes. No fault codes were found but he did advise me to disconnect the battery for a min of 30 mins and drain any remaining power in the SAM unit (switching the lights on and of etc, with the battery disconnected), which might help reboot the Sat Nav Module. The consequence of this was no change to the Sat Nav's functionality but surprisingly, the seat contour functionality returned. This is very simple to do, costs nothing and might be worth a try.

Thanks for the info. I have just tried to unplug the fuse of the multi contour seat air pump for a few minutes but it didn't do the trick. I will try your method when I visit the workshop next time.
