Couple of issues with my new car I need advice with
Hi, I have recently bought a 2014 E250, it has previously been in an accident (over a year ago) and does have some issues (though I'm not sure if they are from the accident or just poor ownership)
LED headlight: I get a message saying that the dipped beam and parking light aren't working and sure enough the dipped beam isn't (not sure about parking light). Before I take the bumper of and start having a look around I was just wondering if there is anything specific to look for and what options I have.
Can the bulbs be changed or is it a full unit job, can I plug the headlamp into the passenger side to check it, if it had had or needs a new controller / ballast does it need to be programmed
Active Bonnet reset: I get the active bonnet message. The hinges etc lie flat so looks like physically it is ok but how do I reset the message or does it need resetting or is there still an issue?
Just wondering if it has been activated in the past if the bonnet needs to be physically reset but the message also needs to be reset in star or something
Budget diags: I can't afford a full star system but wondering if the Carsoft machine or similar would do some decent diags, resets and programming if needed?
Appreciate that going to an indy will probably be required but ideally I would like to do some investigations and DIY first to try and cut down with going backwards and forwards, save costs and also be able to help myself in the future.
