ECO start/stop faulty?

Hi,
my 350d has developed an issue with the ECO stop/start mode where it will sometimes start the engine at traffic lights when I’ve not touched the accelerator, then the ECO light turns yellow before disappearing. The green light on the switch turns off as well and cannot be switched back on. What is going on with it?

Sounds like it is broken. Utopian for sure. Of all the dumb things some cars have these days one of the most annoying is the start stop system that you can not kill off in settings.
