Exclamation Passenger side rear airconditioning is HOT

Recently I found out that the air conditioning on the passenger side (only for the backseat) is incredibly hot. I don't have 4-zone controls, so the backseat only has 1 mode for both sides, and weirdly enough the left (driver-side) fan blows cool air while the right one blows insanely hot (I was resting my arm on the armrest, a bit too far back, and the hot air nearly burned me, which is how I first noticed as I don't usually have people in the back).

All other vents are cool (front, but also the one for the driver side in the rear).

The vent blowing the air is so hot even, that the entire center console (on the right) heats up as well. If you press your hand on the driver side of the center console (inbetween the chair and the console) it feels room temp/cold, but the passenger side is incredibly hot, almost as if it has been in the hot sun for several hours.
The cupholder area also heats up alot, making anything you keep there quickly hot too (beverages will almost evaporate, and I once had my keys in there and on picking them up I almost burned my hand on the metal part).

I've tried searching this problem, some seem to referring to a heater valve but not all those issues seem the same. The air that blows in my case feels almost like engine temperature hot and you could injure yourself if not careful.

I have also been to the dealership recently for something unrelated (I was unaware of this problem at the time, if it existed that is) and they did a checkup as well where they performed a recall maintenance thing that was not yet done on the car.

I was hoping this could be an easy fix, but if it's going to be all tucked away and require many hours of work I will probably go to the dealership instead.

Could be a sensor, need to pull fault codes using MB diagnostics.
