Just for giggles I decided to hook my cheap scanner to my new to me 2011 E350 cabriolet with 75,000 miles. I had already had a PPI so I wasn’t too worried. Like I said I was just curious. The car runs and drives great
I hooked up the scanner to the OBD2 port and it cycled through some letters and numbers but then “Link error” popped up. Thinking it might be the scanner (Like I said it WAS cheap!) I took it over to my 2012 E350 sedan, hooked it up and it worked fine.
Am I missing something or is there a big problem in store for me? Fortunately I did buy the bumper to bumper extended 3 year warranty!

When connect to my car the scanner runs through random numbers and letters and then reads “Link Error”
