TC I'm afraid...
I bought my 2011 E350 in June and other than a few hiccups along the way I've loved it.
Until yesterday
I started to go up a slight hill (car had just been started so it wasn't fully warmed up yet) and between 20-30 mph it felt like I was running over a rumble strip! Then when I reached 35 (the speed limit on our road) I was maintaining a steady speed but the tach showed (and I could hear) the engine surging and backing off repeatedly like something in the transmission was slipping and then catching and then surging and catching over and over. I've searched some forums and from what I can tell it seems to be the torque converter failing. Fortunately I have a service contract with the MB dealer so I will have to pay the deductible but they will be covering the majority of the repair.
