Question Must slam trunk to close

Hello, back again as I just purchased a new to me 2013 A207. My car does NOT have the trunk soft close feature unfortunately. I am having to use a lot of force and multiple attempts to get the trunk to latch. I’ve searched here and all of the tips and tricks about issues with trunk closure seem related to the soft close mechanism.
Before I head to the dealer, is this a simple adjustment of the latch or striker plate. I’ve lubed both and it didn’t help. The trunk releases fine with either the door button, key fob, or handle above the license plate.

Start by checking trunk lid bumpers, they are adjustable.

Thanks will take a look at this, also will confirm that the latch can be closed manually with reasonable effort using a screwdriver or something.

I would suggest removing plastic surround before attempting to manually open/close. Replacement lock part # used is 2047500185, new 2047500485.

Thanks for the pics and reply. I will investigate further in the next few days. The car isn’t being used daily so I can manage for the time being. Very helpful, thanks again. Happy to be back in the Benz fold after not having one for a few years.
