2022 E Class E450 Convertible
Just started the process of ordering a 2022 E Class 450 Convertible. Any one out there with any details as to any changes coming down the road. My dealer has not received any new details. Will be trading in my CLS450 Coupe as lease expires in the fall. Thanks.

Absolutely. We had an 2018 E 400 convertible, but MB repurchased the vehicle after 8 months. We had a few issues. But my wife and I loved the car. And living in South Florida, we have great weather to enjoy it. We will be turning in our 2019 CLS450.

I ordered my E450 Convertable in DEC 20, 2020 for the 2021 model and was told that they don't make the 2021 anymore and will replace it with the 2022. It looks like we may see this car in late fall - maybe!

Hello,
First time posting a note. I placed an order in Jan for an E450A4 Cabriolet and was told by the Dealer that MB stopped building these and now waiting for a 2022 delivery schedule. Anyone had any issue they can share. I've placed a deposit in Jan on this car.
Thanks,
Mike

I’ve ordered a c300 cabriolet in March. Probably won’t have the same issue as you because there may not be a 2022. I have a build date. June 7th. But it’s already been pushed back once.

Ordered '21 E450 Cabrio. No lit Star (badge) on grille, ill-planned and obviously incompetent communicators, engineers pace Distronic elements BEHIND the grille badge and so NO E450 with Distronic can have a lit star - the same with the clock on center console. They had to remove the clock too accommodate Distronic. A very poorly executed car, it's been disappointing in this regard, t switching to the in-line 6 engine a BIG improvement. Just don't get there 20" AMG miltispoke rims/tires. The car was only a month old when BOTH FRONT TIRES had to be replaced - and the tires are on national backorder. I had to wait 15 days to get the car back, the car has just turned 1 month old and does not even have three thousand miles on it.

We decided to cancel the E450 Convertible and instead ordered an E450 4Matic sedan last week. The production date is sometime in November. Right now I have a 2019 CLS 450 with 20" run flats. Three of them had to be replaced earlier this year due to inner thread separations. They do run a bit harsh but i do not mind when I keep the PSI at around 35.

Sorry about your tire problem. The other problems are pretty minor. I personally think the lighted star is kind of lame anyway. If both front tires had to be replaced after a month, you have larger issues there. 3,000 miles in a month would be considered pretty high mileage. I hope they fix what was causing the tire problem.

I picked the car up and drove to Massachusetts for a wedding. It was merely a week old. All interstate both ways, and I'm not an aggressive driver. I'm simply advising that if you're considering the 20" multi spoke rims with low profile tires (the only way the rims are available), they're very high maintenance, and I would have been much happier with the 18 or 19 inch rims. They are smoother riding and because they are more cushioned, less likely to have problems when traveling at 65-MPH over a pothole. Other than this, I love my car. And although the lit star is nothing more than at the flaunting of money, I personally love the way it looks and enjoyed having it on my C300 cabrio, and I got a LOT of nice compliments on it. Mercedes Benz will not let me switch out the tires. To have to stick to the exact factory tire throughout the life of the car is in my opinion, ill conceived and not very flexible

Confused
I am a little confused as cars are still at the port. Perhaps they were ordered prior to the shutdown.

Still, waiting on my dealer for any updates as to a delivery date and any pricing information for 2022. We were informed that 2021 is no longer made in Feb and will be replaced with 2022. This is very unusual, seeing the 2021 E450 was the MotorTrend car of the year !! I guess production is still a problem with the lack of chips?
