Command scroll knob replacement need to be reprogrammed?
Hi, anybody know if a new command scroll knob (part number 212 870 2851) need to be programmed after the replacement to work properly?
I am thinking about buying a new unit online and have it replaced by an independent shop rather than at a dealer.
I know that there are after market aluminum or metal shaft available to replace the broken plastic shaft but I am not mechanically inclined and would rather have somebody else do it, the labor cost may not be worth repairing or just replacing the shaft, replacing the whole unit may take a bit less time?
Thanks,
MP

Yes, when replacing the Audio/COMAND control panel (A40/9) need to perform initial startup using MB diagnostics.
