Two weeks ago I bought a 2017 E400 4Matic Coupe. I am having some upgrades done to it and I will post my progress here. Let me know what you think or if you have any input I would love to hear it. Below are the pictures of the E400 as I bought it.
Today I replaced the wheels and tires.
I put on 19" Mandrus Argent wheels in Matte Black.
Front tires are 235/35-19
Rear tires are 275/30-19.
I also had the brake calipers painted red.
This car is beautiful! I'm actually in the market for a C or E coupe. And to be honest after seeing your real life pictures I think I'm leaning towards E400 4Matic now.
However some concerns I have is:
1) After market support in terms of performance
2) Engine Reliability. - I don't see enough users reporting their experience with these specific cars.
Granted I'm new to the Mercedes world (coming from INFINITI).
Can I ask how many miles did you get this vehicle with? Hows your experience been with the car thus far. Anything i should look out for? Greatly appreciate any advice.
I finally finished all of the exterior modifications. I had most of the chrome wrapped in black vinyl. However the grill was a little more complicated. The silver wings couldn't be wrapped so I had them spray painted black. I am pretty happy with how it turned out.
I bought this car with 30k miles. It had one previous owner who leased it. I bought a 5 year warranty for everything and haven't had a problem with anything. I love the DISTRONIC PLUS steering assist and the backup camera not only shows the back but a top 360 degree angle. My experience has been great. I am very happy I switched from an Audi A5 to this.
it is interesting as i have the same car only it is 2WD and it was one of the last imported here and that was January 2015. Didn't know they made the model up to and including 2017. Car looks great. Did the 275 tyres fit without sticking out of the wheel arch?
This is a Beauty. Love the blacked out grille and Distronic star. I'll do the same to mine . I have crash Prevention assistance (CPA) but not Distronic steering. I'm going for the lighted Distronic style star because I like the look of that solid, glossy surface better than the mesh.

CJ congrats my friend. That's a sweet 400. I do love this generation 400. I don't mean to "ME TOO" you, but ME TOO. lol I have a '15 4mattic. I debadged her. Had all the shiny painted black. I bought this in Novemeber 2018 with 34k on her. Same scenario. Fresh off of a lease. CPO. I did the wrap first but when I decided to have a paint correction and cerama pro done. I had it all painted except for the star. All that you know is supposed to be chrome or stainless has been removed and painted. I also had a couple panels repainted. I went with some Rennen 3sl 19x8.5 front with 245 DWS and 19x19.5 with 275s out back. No rubbing and I have Amg Sport package. The distronic is awesome. My favorite option is the LED Intel lights. They are bright. Here is a couple pics of how she looks now.
For those who asked, have NO FEAR about this motor. I have had zero issues and I'm at 47k now

Hi Paul. I have distronic and CPA. So I'm guessing the lighted star you are holding will NOT work with distronic?
