Is this the same one that is also attached to the fuel pump itself? I was having starting issues and was going to try changing this part out.
No not the same and diagram is for a different engine. 11 e550 coupe (if this correct update your profile) no sensor, one rail valve used to reduce pressure for servicing. You can check it but doubt odds are low that this is a contributing factor. If you have not already done so inspect fuel pump and rail/injectors. As an aside check with dealer to see if your VIN is included in Service Campaign 2013110002 see attachment.
