Your new grille looks very similar to the one I installed on mine, although mine did not come from 55Tech. My car is a later model, but the star unscrewed. I just grabbed it and twisted counter-clockwise. It is essentially one piece, although the actual "chrome" (it's plastic) star pops off of the main black plastic body after you get the whole thing off the grille.
