GPS Update without dealer?

We have a new to us 2015 E400 Coupe and realized that we can't, without a major rework, connect our Android phones to Comand so we have no ability to get Waze (or other things) on the in dash screen.

A check of the nav system shows that it is a 2019 version. I see the upgrade looks to be about $99 but I also see the MB upgrade has to be installed by the dealer. Has anyone come up with a better solution? I've seen a few things offered for sale online but none seem to be the latest version & not sure to what extent they can be trusted.

I'm in the same boat, all be it in the UK 🇬🇧.

Mines a 2015, and I have just moved over from the Audi family 👪 updates and software mods are so EASY of the AUDI range, where as on Mercs everything seems a ballache 😂😂

I want to add 2021 sat-nav update and would love to software update my Dab radio as its drops signal for fun 📶😂

I just updated my nav using the mbnavupdate.com link that was listed & after some minor operator errors, it installed perfectly. Also saved quite a bit over a trip to the dealership. If you go this route, pay close attention to the instructions & you will avoid the mistakes I made. I reached out several times for assistance & they responded quickly.
