I am a new member of this forum so thought I would introduce myself.
I am retired and live by the Lincolnshire coast.
I own a 2015 E250 Cabriolet - my wife owns a very low mileage 2008 Facelift 280 SLK.
For 5 years I ran a Rover 75 Connoisseur Tourer which was replaced by another that I also ran for 5 years.
In 2017 I replaced this with a 2015 Vauxhall Insignia Elite Tourer which had the adaptive headlights.
In 2020 I fancied a change and bought a late 2012 Jaguar XFS Sportbrake unfortunately, without the adaptive headlights. I joined a couple of forums for these vehicles and discovered that there were a load of design faults with these. For instance, disconnect the main battery and you loose the ability for central locking. Jaguar know about this and there is a Technical Service Bulletin on this that required replacement of two programmable junction boxes and reprogramming, cost about £1,400, problems with inlet manifolds etc. Though, I must admit the only problem I had was when the car went in for a recall and the dealer had the central locking problem. They got Jaguar to pay to the new boxes.
In 2021, having driven estates for 14 years and no longer having need of an estate a convertible seemed very desirable. A look at a low mileage older C Class had my wife saying'why not go for something younger and I ended up with an E250 E Class. Two were in contention and I bought the blue one and love the LED headlights and auto high-beam. I am hoping that if the MB has any design faults they are a lot less than the Jag.
So, just waiting for the good weather to get the top down.
if you are into minor and functional mods, swap the rotors out for Powerstop zinc coated cross drilled ones. They make them for front and back if you have the AMG brake/ suspension option.
Full kit has all the clips and comes with Z23 pads which are a nice stopping improvement over the OEM ones. About 450 quid. Install is up to you though or your mechanic
They dont rust and look fantastic on all four corners esp with the AMG package wheels
