Yes I was pleasantly surprised with the price seeing as how Bilstein's here wanted over $6K. I am certainly hoping for that "silky smooth" ride as it will be a big improvement over the clunking and flopping I have at the moment. Thanks again.

Ebay finds

I have a really starter seeing what appears to be struts and shocks on eBay for the 200 a pair range I think 380 for all 4 was the prices. They do specifically mention E550 coupe and the struts are "electronically controlled" available in USA too! My E550 coupe is a 2011 and I love the car but is it valuable enough to put 4k into suspension work? If anybody sees these on eBay please chime in their opinion

Do you have a link?

Only you can decide if $4K is worth it or not. A few months ago, I apent $4K on just an alternator (no idea how it went out so soon), a bent axle, motor/trans mounts, and an oil change. I way overpaid, but my car only has 33K miles on it (2010). If my car had 150K miles, I think I would have been way less enthusastic about pouring a few grand into maintenance.

Personally I wouldn’t go with a shocks/struts unless it’s a known manufacturer like Monroe and Bilstein. Prices seem to be $180-$300 per shock for Monroe shock/strut specific to the electronic dampening ones with sports code 483. You can search as well by the model names by these companies.

For Monroe, search part numbers: C2508R, C2509L, C2510R, and C2511L.

For Bilstein, search part numbers: 23-255807, 23-255814, 20-255824, and 20-255831.

The eBay link looks interesting but really don’t know if it’s any good given its a generic assembly. If you end up doing this one please do keep forum updated so we know how it goes and if any good. I suspect you get what you pay for and could be not good quality and may not last.
