Just got myself a 2012 E250 CGI. The car arrived with a trunk spoiler. The trunk did not pop open when I pulled the released switch in car. Had to manually pull it up.
Found out it was the weight of spoiler that was holding it down because once I took it the spoiler off, it worked fine.
Anyone else have same experience? Thing is I like the spoiler. Is the problem;
1. Spoiler I have is too heavy (should get CF instead)?
2. Trunk spring weak?
Appreciate if can share experience. TQ in advance
Has to be your spoiler has just added enough weight that your trunk doesn't swing up. I would say its the spring that needs adjustment or replacement, unless you have a really heavy spoiler. What did you install?

As soon as I took the spoiler off, the trunk worked as should. Spoiler came with car when I bought.
Can only say it's definitely not a CF piece.
Checked the springs and they were at lowest setting. Know how to fix it now. TQ
On my 2015 A207 when I press the button on the fob the boot lid normally rises an inch or so and have to then lift it up. If I use the switch on the door the boot lid springs up and I cannot understand why that should be. Will try altering the springs.
(not my video, but I just tried to on my A207 and now the boot lid springs open when I push the button on the keyfob where it used to just lift about 1cm)
