2016 E550 Coupe common issues

Rare poster, constant lurker. I got rid of my 2012 E550 Coupe in 2021 due to Camshaft failure and Oil in the wiring harness (known issue... I know). Got scared and the dealer I sold it to offered me way more than I owed on it. I've missed it ever since. If you ever drove a v8 Benz, a v6 Infiniti will drive you to depression, smdh/lmao. I've currently got a 2016 E550 Coupe on my radar with under 18k miles. Questions are: is the 2016 prone to the same issues as the pre-facelift? Are there preventive things I can/should do? Definitely getting a warranty. Thanks in advance for any help. And thanks for all the threads I've already read

Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but, if you don't mind, I do have a quick question.... Is the Camshaft failure/Oil in the wiring harness also a 'known issue' for my 2010 E550 Coupe???

To my knowledge it's a known issue with the M278 camshaft position sensors. I'm not sure about the facelift models though, which is what I'm wondering. That's a pic of mine last year before I got rid of it. I tried to load a video, but couldn't

Wish I could see the video as I can’t picture where under the hood this sensor is. I’ve tried to look in my 2012 to see if I have any oil leaking and haven’t felt or seen any but am very aware this can happen to mine.

A few searches here and you should get some info. M278 cam shaft sensor or M278 oil in harness. Also YouTube seems to show replacement of the sensors and magnets. My question is: Does anyone with the face-lift models still have this issue? Should changing the camshaft sensors and magnets just be done on regular/scheduled times?

Oil in harness well known on 278 and 157 too.. yes every oil change check cps and magnets and change every 10k is my recommendation ... or buy on fcp euro and change for free when they fail ... mitigate plugs with oil with electronics cleaner ... several other points that can leak oil too on 278 and 157
