Top operation - assuming electrical
Hello all,
My son and I just replaced all the hydraulics in his 2011 E350 Cabrio (shout out to Klaus @ Top Hydraulics for an excellent product)
Top fully cycled several times without issue, checked for leaks, change in fluid levels etc. All good. Then an issue cropped up:
When cycled, the top unlatches, the bow raises, and the tonneau raises fully. Then everything stops. If you press the switch again, you can hear the pump run, but it sounds like it's trying to raise the tonneau further; the bow is completely unmovable. I've disconnected and reconnected the plastic clip on to the passenger tonneau cylinder without any change. The top will re-close from that point without any issue. Repeating the process yields a stop/fail at exactly the same point.
My guess is that somehow the sensor that reads when the tonneau cover is fully raised (and tells the bow to drop, followed by the top retracting) is not functioning.
Can this be checked without buying a replacement part, in case that is NOT the issue?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the info. The problem doesn't appear to be fluid or cylinder related. The top unlatches, the bow raises, and the tonneau fully lifts. The next step would be for the bow to drop into the trunk, followed by the roof retracting. Since the bow lowers fine when you reverse the switch to close the top, it appears all the hydraulics are functioning as they should.
