Aux Battery - A207/C207
After 7 years, my aux battery is dying. Got the message the other day, but it went away. I went to the dealer the next day to buy an OEM replacement, but the SA said they could do it right away and the battery price was reasonable, so I figured I may as well let them do it.
An hour later, they tell me it's done, but they charged a crazy amount for labor. Even with all the crap I have in my trunk, it should not have taken more than 30 minutes to swap. On top of that, the porter knocked a pylon off the curb and dinged my left rear quarter panel.
First, they told me they could fix the ding fairly quickly, then about 30 minutes later, they said they didn't have the right tool to fix it, but they'd order the tool.
So now I have to go back when they have the tool and I've already wasted 2 hrs of my day on top of the exorbitant labor charge.
Lesson here is to always DIY when possible...

Had he told me the "book" says this is a 1.5 hr lbr job, I would have declined and just bought the battery. It's a 30-minute job, max, assuming your boot is full of crap like mine. If the boot is clear, this is a 5-minute job that is easily DIY...
