Rear Defroster issue on A207

I had the windows tinted in my 2012 A207 a while back and recently noticed the rear defroster not working very well/at all. I have heard that tint on the back glass can sometimes disconnect the heating elements? Has anyone heard of or experienced this? I am in New Mexico so we do not see the need for a defroster very often and it is garaged most of the winter. I am not sure if the tint is just a coincidence in timing or might be a legit cause. Any advice with defroster issues/solutions is appreciated.

I do not see any damage. but with the tint i am not sure if I am just missing something. is there anyone familiar with any codes or perhaps fuses that I can look into? The dash switch lights up and stays on for the similar duration of time when it did function. the entire window doesn't defrost so it does not appear to be localized to a single or multiple lines. I am at a loss but want to try everything before I head to service. we only have one dealer in Alb so an appointment is time delaying and pricey.

Check f49 & relay ‘C’ (current part # 0009829504) @ rear SAM, passenger side trunk panel.

How did you remove the tint? I have tint on my E400 which I am keen to remove but afraid that the rear heater will get in trouble.

i had tint added but there was no previous tint to remove so i cant say. i would suggest professional tint removal for any rear window with a defroster.
