Help! E350 coupe trunk/boot won't close!

E350 CDI Coupe
Help! E350 coupe trunk/boot won't close!
Just picked up a 2010 E350 Coupe... Opened the boot once to put shopping in and now can't close it.

Just had to drive back using bungee cords to hold it (roughly) closed to get home...

Any assistance would be much appreciated 👍

You can check adjustment if fine, lock may need replacement. Provide VIN I'll pull part #.

Not sure if this helps...

Boot lights don't switch on whilst open either...

I press the boot release and hear nothing.

The plot thickens...

It seems there's no power to the tailgate.

I put hazards on, and I get nothing from the tailgate.

Any ideas?

Reading other posts... This sounds suspiciously like rear SAM?

No tailgate lights - but numberplate lights workNo tailgate latch

Electronic button release on both tailgate, fob and drivers for doesn't trigger any motor activity

Tailgate, are we still talking about 2010 coupe. Yes, you can check SAM condition/connections but before doing so remove cover from left trunk hinge and check harness for damage.
