2016 E400 Cabriolet door unlocking problem
I'm having a problem opening the doors using the exterior door handles after unlocking my '16 E400 Cab. I can lock/unlock the doors using the remote, however when you pull on the exterior handle the doors are still locked (both driver and passenger sides). The door will not open manually using the key either. You can hear/see the lock mechanism lock and unlock, you just can't open the door from the exterior after it's been unlocked. Fortunately, the top was down when this started happening so I am able to just reach into the car and open the door using the inside door handle but now if I want to lock the car with the top and windows up I'm screwed and will not be able to open it back up.
Any ideas on how to trouble shoot? Thank you!

I didn’t mention that I just had the car vinyl wrapped and the door handles were removed as part of the process. So there is an internal linkage that you suspect is the problem?
