I have a 2012 E550 cab with an NTG 4.5 head unit. I bought the car 6 years ago and never activated SiriusXM. I did install a wireless CarPlay unit though. They are having a free trial until Saturday and I wanted to try SiriusXM out. It appears I can not access SiriusXM. When I go to the "audio" menu there is no "Sat radio". When I try and access it through the actual "radio" but, it only has AM, FM and weather. Ideas?

Don't bother with SiriusXM on the NTG head unit, sound quality is awful! Use CarPlay for SiriusXM instead, the sound quality is much better via CarPlay.

You likely don't have an SXM antenna installed if it wasn't a build option. My guess is the dealer could do a software upgrade to add that when you install one?

Do what I do — copy your music to a memory card or USB drive and plug it into the car's stereo using the connections built into the center console.

I have almost 9,000 cuts (44.1 GB) on a single card, including rock, folk, jazz, and classical. The cuts are searchable using the stereo's system's search function — I can search by artist, album, song, etc. etc. Sound quality is excellent, I can listen to what I want rather than what some lame DJ (do they still exist?) picks, it never fades, and there's no monthly fee.
