[Tires] E550 coupe tire size upgrade?

I'm sure it's been done before

I have the 18" wheels on my 2015 E550

I want to add 245mm wide tires in the front
And 265mm in the back

That's 10mm wider than stock on both.

Can this be done with no issue with the stock wheels?
Bonus- I am adding 15mm spacers which I bought already

My 2014 e550

Yes no issue on tire width on stock AMG rim.......HOWEVER not sure about any rubbing issues if you use spacers

Good point... I wanted to do both at once but I think I should get my tools out and do the spacers first before I decide on tires unless someone from the wild can confirm online

It can be done

H&R 15mm spacers and lugs from ECS tuning. Also look it up on YouTube a forum guy did it for the E63

The tires are 10mm over stock, so 245 in the front and 265 in the back

No rub so far no shaking nothing... The car rides NICER but the steering is a lil thick. You can definitely get away with 12 rear and 10mm front if you wanna be more flush or something.

I'm ok with how it looks the car looks aggressive now and feels NICE on the Michelins.

thanks for posting back up. So you added thed 15mm spacers and also did the 10 mm wider tires f/'r Did you try going over bumps at full lock both ways?
Are the spacers hub centric on the rotor and the wheels?

I thnk 10 mm spacer would be better but YMMV

Yes, no issues in my driveway doing that. I wouldn't call this a 100% worry free fitment with these wheels and spacers and tire size though.

But the car does feel drastically different in slalom especially at high speeds. Not for the better either, the wheels sit too far out and you can tell in the steering and lack of stability.

And over some bumpy overpasses I heard some noise from the rears. I'm talking harsh bumps in comfort mode- sounds like hard rub somewhere in the rear for a split second. I'm not the type to be a servant to a wheel and suspension setup geared for looks- and this is barely even a "set up" so it's outside my "it's worth dealing with" comfort zone... For example, on the highway I'd rather drive in sport suspension mode now. That takes care of the harsh bumps but it's still something I would have to think about having to do.

I would expect some BS to come along with installing this setup.
No biggie but I won't be keeping these on for too long. They were just a "wanna try it" type of thing.

Like I said you'd probably be a little happier with 10mm all around and the wheels will look just as cool. So I'm probably gonna place an order for some variety and follow up.

To answer your question the parts are in the attached screenshot. I will likely be offering them for sale on the forum, with stock tire size I'd say they would've been perfect.

Well, i think running those tires w/o the spacers would be just perfect. I would think all the rubbing issues would go away. Also the feel of the steering will definitely be due to the wider tires. Does it return to center the same way as before with the OEM size tires and no spacer? I have seen this and felt it on many vehicles over the past 30 years. You might try running w/o the spacers..

PS where in Tampa Bay are you? My sister lives off of 54 in Pasco County.
