Timing cover pics. What do you guys think?




Unless you are changing the chain tensioners, or VVT gears, leave that alone. They can create more problems than fixing a non-issue.
My 2014 W212 @99K miles had a similar look around 80K, I cleaned that area, and nothing so far. The engine environment is not a surgery room, and dust starts to stick over time.
If it is oil, you will see it coming back with fury.
NOTE: while there, take a chance and give the engine a bit of TLC. A microfiber towel to at least remove the high level dust.
