Hello and Help US-EU Tail Light COnversion W/C207 SOLVED
Long Story, not so Long
We were relocated to Switzerland shortly after buying our 2014 E-350 Convertible. We decided to bring it with us. A Car Built in Stuttgart moving back close to home how many problems could there be?
There was some initial confusion by the local dealers who wanted to install a new head unit, but I had an engineering contact (No longer have) who was able to tell them exactly what they need to do to reprogram the Head unit.
No concerns with the lights either in front (Halogen), or red brake/turn/ Hazzard tail lights.
Fast forward to relocation to Germany- Germany car, g Built in Germany, going back to Germany, Should be easy to switch out parts- (ha)
Go to have inspection, Headlights do not have the EU mark (Only DOT) So basically have to down grade the lights to Very expensive "correct" light. However the harness and programming is not correct, so they basically have to rebuild wiring harness for head lights, and reprogram.
Headquarters wanted them not to touch the car, and would not provide. Many Euros later (E13,000!), it is fixed and we have enjoyed the last 2 years with the car.
Last week, I go to renew the inspection- Tail lights are wrong need separate Amber or turn and hazard. New EU compliant tail lights are about 350 Each, but they have different adapters. (This should have been caught at the one 2 years ago)
I need to tell the shop exactly what they need to do (I don't have a home garage, and my technical German is not good enough for a local mechanic)
As I understand it I need to
Have the shop buy the German Version for the Tail lights
Have the shop order the proper pin connector.
Have an extra wire run from each light to the trunk SAM (From where to where (Pin 6?)
Reprogram the unit
Any help with Schematics and specifics and what else I am missing.
We Have already dropped so much fixing the front, and we can't sell it as is.
Dealer now says that Stuttgart engineers say they can not do the conversion, because the certificate for the car would no longer be valid.
(Possible to do, but not allowed).
They can nor order me the lights even if they agreed to do it, because they can only order parts that correspond to the Chassis Number (US Model)
Does anyone know the Part number for German C/W207 Left and Right tail lights?
Or a place where I can look up a chassis number for the German version of this Car?
I asked If I did the conversion, could they do the reprogramming, they didn't think so (Local engineer that did the front is calling me Monday)
So I have a 90% US car, Modified for German Headlights, that is legal nowhere.
Thoughts?
(Import back to US to a family member ?)
Anyone want to import for a good deal? (US headlights are with my Sister-in-law in CT, but there was rewiring and reprograming done)

A2079063300 A2079063400 ( I am 95% sure) Dealer will order, but will not take them back if they are wrong.
So now I am looking for help on which pins on the sam I need to run the wires.
Some people I have researched have said it is just reprogramming, but that doesn't make sense, since there is no wire in the US connector going to the EU pin in on the tail light.
The MB dealer did say they could do the reprogramming, but not the install/conversion.
A2079063300 and A2079063400 Were correct for my 2014 207.459
Needed new connector, (Some people just cut the TAB off the US connector)
Add 2 wires from left and right lights to rear SAM
and reprogramming.
I could not find a way to add Solved to Header of first post- am I missing something, or just too new?

Additional Items:
5-963715-6 TE Connectivity AMP Connectors (4 needed, buy extra)
A0255452226 Contact Bushing ( 2 needed buy extra because plastic can break) (Black connector in picture, Some people shave off the tab on the US version (White in picture) to fit the EU socker, but it is better to just get the right connector)
Automotive High temp wire 0.5 (20 gauge)
Tools in attachment Picture:
Liner removal T-40 wrench for removal of tie down, Bungee to help hold liner when folded back, Trim tool (not shown)
Long throw 8mm wrench (the forward light nuts are a pain , recessed, easy to lose extenders/socket into the frame)
Wire cutter/ stripper/Crimping tool
Small screw driver to release connector pins from sockets
Split sleeving and electrical tape for wire dressing
Procedure: Remove/Fold back liner to access lights and SAM
Remove White connectors from Right and left light
Remove old lights (Nuts do not need to be completely remove Slotted holes)
Install new lights (Slide as far forward as possible and tighten forward nut first)
Prepare new wire with Connectors (Same connector pin on both ends) (Length from each Light to 5H connector in Rear SAM, leave room for routing)
Prepare connector - Add new Wire to slot three, and add other wires to same location in new connector
Run Wire To rear SAM 5H- Left to Pin 25, Right to pin 15
Reprogram (not sure exactly what the tech did, but it was fast I don't have access to an independent programmer))
