e350 cdi 2009 won't crank
Hey guys, I hope everyone is well! I've encountered a sudden issue with my e350 cdi coupe, hoping someone can shed some light please
basically, went out one morning, car started fine as usual, however while driving, it cut out, which was strange since car had plenty of fuel and battery is all good, I then tried to start it back up, but nothing, wouldn't crank
I've also checked for fault codes, but hasn't really picked anything up
might also be worth mentioning, prior to this, on odd / rare occasions, sometimes the car wouldn't crank but as soon as I'd turn the key back and try again, it would start up as normal, maybe something was starting to go bad?
any advice would be much appreciated thank you

Do you have a 2nd key fob to try? It sounds like EIS [drive authorization] is intermittently failing IR handshake with key fob. If 2nd fob resolves issue, consider yourself lucky. If it does not, the EIS will probably require replacement which will be expensive.
