Rear SAM Compatibility.

Hi all

My 2014 E350 Cabrio A207 got some water intrusion due to a flood. The water made its way into the cabin and and has affected the modules underneath both passenger and driver seats. The most extensive damage was to the rear SAM module that sustained enough corrosion to where it does not function and will need to be replaced. I found one online that is for a 2011 E500 convertible and im wanting to get some input on whether or not this will work for my car.

My car:
Year: 2014 E350 Cabrio (Facelift)
VIN: WDDKK5KF4EF252085

Donor car:
Year: 2011 E500 Cabrio (pre facelift i believe)
VIN: WDDKK7CF6BF074055

I am hoping this is compatible as these are plug and play and i have only seen exact matches for my car in Europe which is right hand drive.

Any input is appreciated!

Greetings for the two body series you wrote, I can't find any rear sam that are interchangeable. I'm attaching two pictures with the EPC parts for each series. PS: Even if you absurdly change them without any modification ... they don't have the same configuration, only the code, only the software version or only the configuration may be different ... they won't work as long as you don't have the coding and the corresponding variant from your datacard. You can do the coding with vediamo if you know the variant you have very well and all the factory option codes, or, you can approach an SCN coding at a Mercedes dealer, this can be done either at the dealership or at an authorized Mercedes repairer. You can't do it at home.

If you want everything to be plug & play, look for a rear sam that has all 3 Mercedes codes identical to yours. LU; HW; SW. Even so, if we are talking about a second-hand one, the choice is a "lottery" because you have no way of knowing if the software and the written version of the rear sam you purchased are correct until you install it on the car.

Accepting the return of the product in case it is inappropriate is highly recommended if you want to be sure that you can avoid some discomfort.

NB: In the images you will notice the codes in the chronological order of their use in production A *** *** **1 - replaced by A *** *** **2 - and so on until the last version used.

I hope I was helpful. Good luck.

Thank you for the reply! I took a gamble and purchased. Fortunately, all functions are working properly minus intermittent issues with the wipers and telescopic steering wheel adjustments. But all my codes and warning lights have disagreed from the dash! Seems (for now) like i hit the lotto!

Hi, I'm glad to hear that but try to find someone to reconfigure the rear sam you bought. Maybe an intermittent error or two on unimportant modules for you might seem like nothing but keep in mind that the rear sam exchanges information with almost all the modules of the car on different CAN networks, even LIN.... Believe me you don't want to end up unraveling the hell that can be unleashed in the electronics of Mercedes cars )) All the best!
