I have a 2014 C207 that is in absolutely perfect condition. Less than 25K miles and everything works as it should. My silly question is: I know this
button is supposed to move the seat belts forward, but for the life of me I can't figure out when it's supposed to work. The belts come out to reach me
(both sides) fine, but I can't figure out when and how this is supposed to work. I know, serious first world problem, but I thought the brain trust here could
shed some light.
There are times when the seatbelt extender is retracted, such as when you've been wearing it but take it off for some reason (e.g., you drive your wife to the store, stop the car and wait in it while she shops for something). When she returns and you want to put your retracted belt back on, the button is helpful in reaching it. Or at least that's been my experience.
Yes exactly, it retracts after 15 minutes or so or maybe shorter than that. Other than that, it will auto extend when you open the door the first thing when getting in the car, and not when the car has been unlocked for a while.
I played with it and figured it out. If you unbuckle the seat belt (stay in the seat), in park with the engine running the button
works. I assume it's for when you don't leave the vehicle and and you keep the car running. If you turned off the vehicle
the seat belt will greet you as soon as you turn the key (or press the button).
